Zenith Profile Chair by Camatic
Camatic are an Australian owned and operated specialist seating company, with a global reputation for premium design and high quality products using cutting-edge technology.
Founded in the 1960’s by engineer Brian Fysh, the company started out producing brass ferrules (connectors). In the late 1960’s they were contracted to supply aluminium seating brackets for the historic and high-profile Sydney Opera House build, and it was this project that kickstarted a definitive move into the commercial seating industry for Camatic. Being new to the industry, Camatic brought with them fresh ideas and designs, quickly garnering a reputation for innovation and quality as they broke new ground in venue seating for the office, theatre and stadium markets.
By the 1980’s and 90’s they had become the largest manufacturer of theatre and stadium seats in Australia, servicing an array of high-profile clients like Village Roadshow, and securing other major projects such as Melbourne’s Olympic Park and the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Their successes extended across the globe, winning contracts for the supply of stadium seating for the Atlanta Olympic Games and the refurbishment of the Pasadena Rose Bowl in the US.
The severe economic downturn that came with the Global Financial Crisis in the 2000’s saw Camatic pivot and open up from stadium and arena seating into commercial seating, continuing to deliver innovative solutions and high-quality products to this day.
"Our role is not just providing seating, but the development of the most innovative seating options that provide alternatives in style, functionality and vision," says CEO, David Fisher.
Also holding a firm value of vision and innovation is Sydney business, Zenith Interiors. Zenith are a premium office fit-out business, designing, manufacturing and distributing leading edge products for corporate and commercial environments, with the dream to inspire people and organisations to excel. Like Camatic, they have also experienced much growth and change over the years, starting out as a manufacturer of office partition systems in the 1950’s and evolving into the design and manufacture of first-class furniture, workstations, seating.
These two juggernauts of the industry joined forces to develop the Profile chair, designed specifically for Zenith and manufactured by Camatic. Marketed as the ultimate boardroom chair, the Profile has become one of the most prolifically sold office chairs. Certainly in Canberra, the number of these chairs sitting in Government departments would be in the hundreds.
Popular for its understated style yet impeccable design detail, the Profile’s aesthetic belies a sturdy frame encased within moulded foam, overlayed with a second covering for luxurious comfort. Upholstered in high quality wool fabric, this chair also features height adjustability and back tilt for an ergonomic seating experience. And with the meticulous craftmanship typical of Camatic manufacturing, these are designed to last. Functional, innovative, stylish and comfortable - the Zenith Profile sits firmly in the category of a contemporary classic. And with an economic price point of $176, this is not one to go past.
