Sitland was founded in 1977 in the Italian city of Vicenza. Originally established as manufacturers of upholstered seating in sleeping cabins of Italian trains, Sitland spread its roots and expanded into the design of hairdressing chairs which were exported throughout Europe in the mid 80’s. By the end of the decade the company had its feet firmly planted in the design and manufacturing of high quality office chairs.
The breakthrough for Sitland came in 1996 with the launch of the Ouverture chair, which kickstarted a new era of energy and life for the company. This new period focused on technology, design and research combined with ergonomics and aesthetics, all the while remaining true to their heritage of quality Italian manufacturing.
